Back in the days a lot of the original producers started out signing deals connected to either ther own name or a specific alias wich basically kept them from releasing material on other labels under that specific name.
This forced them to cook up all sorts of monikers to avoid being pinned down on a single label, thus still releasing stuff affiliated to their best known aliases on various labels .
This might be the reason for the somewhat confusing name thing.
